Considering STP super concentrated Fuel Injection Cleaner (black bottle)
or Valvoline SynPower super concentrated (with synthetic cleaners).

Valvoline indicates cleans intake valves -- but I would think they both do.

Appears STP not synthetic? whereas Valvoline contains synthetic.

Any comment on either of these or any others?

You probably dont care anymore to hear yet another opinion, but I used to use the BG 44K, which did a great job, but its around US$21 a can! The Techron seems to work almost as well and its $6-$9 per large bottle. I run Techron thru on half a tank or so every 3 to 5K nowadays, and have a lot less injector problems on my 745T than I did in the 245. Its so easy, the hell with takin' em out, messing with the seals and wires, unless they fail.

BTW - when I put a used engine in my 245, and swapped over the intake manifold and system, I noticed those valves, and anything within the cone of the injector spray was CLEAN AS A WHISTLE! That was 44k.

AMSOIL PI, Redline SI-1, BG 44K, Techron--in that order.

I never use them. I'm thinking....if they release (dislodge)
any debris, it will make things worse...
(Speaking strictly from experience).
The Best way to clean them is to take them OUT, and have
professional do it.
Usually they are easy to take out. It may cost from $10 - $15 per.

Have used Valvoline Synpower and Techron. Synpower seemed to do a better job.

One point is that I use it when I will be burning up at least 10 gallons or fuel at freeway speeds on a long drive - fully heated engine the whole way.

I also try to run Shell RUL, sometimes (feeling rich!) I'll run a tank of the Plus or Premium.

Not to argue, but I've also heard or read that short trips are good when using a fuel system / injector cleaner. The theory is that the "soak time" between runs is when the cleaner works best, or gets a better chance to do what it do.

Can't recall the source of this, but believed it to be reliable at the time. Maybe something to consider.

The best value in my view is full-strength Techron (which our Walmart has for about $6). The BG products are all significantly more expensive.

The was a posting on www.bobistheoilguy.com the BG 44K had changed the formula and it wasn't as good any more.

From my discussions with the Volvo service techs at my local dealership, I believe that Techron is the strongest fuel system cleaner that Volvo will advise using in the car for "over-the-counter" purchases and end-user treatments. One bottle will mix to 10 gallons of gas so you'll need to buy two of them (since our 700 series fuel tanks are a bit over 17 gallons).

I also fill up at Mobil with their premium fuel a few times a year (usually 2 or 3 tank fulls in a row). Mobil has the most "cleaners" added to their premium fuel mixture, and Amoco/BP Ultimate is the "cleanest" fuel on the market. Also, Chevron does mix a bit of Techron into their premium mixture.

Also, if you're looking to clean a lot of carbon deposits from your engine cylinders, the water sipping (aka steam cleaning) method works well. This was advised as an effective solution for removing carbon build up by the head mechanic at my dealership. There are few good cleaners out there. Techron is a good cleaner. BG K44 is a better cleaner and then there is Fuel Power the best. Techron can be had at most auto parts stores. I think NAPA carries BG 44K if not call around to car dealers by you they may carry it. Fuel Power (FP60) is an internet only product. It is not sold in any retail markets as of yet. BTW If you decide to use the BG 44K make sure you use it just before you plan on changing the oil. Also do not use it more than once every six months. Remember too much of a good thing can be bad for your car. If this stuff gets into the oil it will start to break down the protective additives package.
BG 44K is a strong product and could cause problems if over or misused.

Lubro-Moly Jectron is *specifically* designed for Jetronic.

I use it twice a year.

no ideas, but a word of warning...

did my 900 recently (heavy session cleaner direct into the manafold) cleared a lot of crap...but deposited a lot over the plugs so bad i lost ignition on one plug....so i suggest you get a new set of plugs nad carry them and a plug ratchet..just in case!
