Do the late model 960/90 series cars have the underhood, engine bay light? My owners manual does not mention it and my newly acquired 96 965 deos not have one.

No they quit using them.I cannot rember if the old engine bay light assys used a mercurey switch like the trunk light assys used but Volvo quit using mercury a long time ago.
