240 - 1993 Questions 200

I am thinking about buying a 93 240 wagon non-turbo. Did Volvo make a 240 wagon in 1993 and if not what was the last year they did ? Thanks Dan. PS. Did they have the B230F engines in them .

Many consider the early 1990s RWD Volvos to be the best of the best. The 240 is, of course, a classic design and a genuine workhorse with regular preventive attention.

240 - 1993 Questions 200

1993 is the last year for all 240 production. The last 1600 were badged as "Classic" and have a few more options and other unique features.

They did indeed make wagons right up to the end, and all US model 240s from 1985 on have the B230F engine. Available as 5-speed or automatic 4-speed, but no engine options available.

1993 is the best of the breed.

Thank you for the info. I just have one more question about the transmissions. Was the auto trans still the AW71 and what trans do you think would be better in the 93 240 , the auto trans or the stick ? Thanks again Dan. My email address is uptownwestmont@mindspring.com
