240 heater 'always on' 200

My 1992 is blowing hot air even when the temp gauge is pushed all the way to the blue side. Even with the A/C turned on, I still get hot air.

I know this must be an easy one, but I could sure use the help.

Thanks,

The slide switch is attached to a stiff wire that pushes-pulls the valve closed-open. The wire may have slipped a bit.

Try loosening the screw that holds the wire to the slider, pull the slider over to the right a bit, then tighten the screw. This way when you push the slider all the way to the left you'll be pushing the valve closed.

Your heater control valve is broken(internally)and allowing hot coolant to bypass the seal inside it.
