Spark plugs and MPG

Hi all,
Has anyone used the Bosch 4-electrode spark plugs in their b230f? I used them in my Saab 9000NA and got a 1-2 mpg boost, but the some of the guys on Saabnet seemed to think it blasphemy to use anything but NGK. Any experience would be greatly appreciated.

I picked up a set when I was trying to debug an idle problem. In the end the idle problem was a broken flame trap. Anyway, on a long highway trip in back to back tests against a Bosch Super plug, the +4s seemed to give me a 0.5 MPG increase. Of course factors like weather, speed, and even fuel quality can also bump your mileage around by even more than that. I think the conditions were reasonably similar when I did the compare.

Right now the Supers are back in and I will use the +4s after I get some more wear on those.

I don't have experience with this plug nor have read anything about it but the concept seems to make sense. The ability to increase the combustibility of the a/f mixture would be a good thing; I don't know if that is actually happening though.

I'm going to admit it now, every once in a while I go off on the new stuff that comes out, when the split fire plugs came out, had to have em, know what they were junk. I have run the bosh plugs you describe in my 960 for years and they are good plugs. Now with that said, I have gone off again, this time it's the E3 spark plug, bought them from J.C. Whitney--only sorce for them right now. Put these little jewels on the car and ya know what , they have done everything they said they would on their website, Smoothest burn I have ever seen, turn the key and the engine jumps to life, after 3k on them when like siting at a stop light and you get that occasional bump of a slight missfire, thats no more,if you did'nt know the engine was running you couldn't tell if you in the passengers seat and almost like that in the drivers seat.
I'm going off again on this product and order a set for my 5 series BMW, with that said check out the E3 Spark Plug website and decide for yourselves.
      Good Luck
