No LSD req'd... (mirror hallucinations) 140-160

Sho nuff! An ol Volvo will take you right back in time...
Ol funky 145S got lots o dem gooood vibrations.

Most every time I look in rear view mirror, I can hardly make out a damn thing - all I see squiggles and blurs. Following headlights alternate patterns between cat's eyes, U's, W's, sine waves. Even in the daylight I couldn't tell ya if there was a cop back there till he'd be right behind with all his flashers lit up!

Anyone got any suggestions how to fix 140 rear view mirror so it won't remind you of your last LSD experience? Maybe let ya have a clue as to presence or proximity of law enforcement?

;-D
Later,
Al

Pull it out of the socket (may have to pry with a screwdriver) and tighten up
the mushroom head screw that retains it, put a little grease on the screw
and pop it back in. (It may be a pretty hard pop.)
That should tighten it up, unless it is one of the earliest ones with the
die-cast mushroom head. In that case get a later one at a salvage. The
early 240s use the same system.

Was doing some similar tripping in my 122. Then I took out the old mirror and upgraded with a modern generic version purchased at NAPA. It's glued right to the top of the windshield. Bigger, better and with the night vision option.
    The cops will never know...
