Help Identifying 2 parts 700 1985

I have a '85 740 DT and have some enginge parts that I can't seem to identify. I've tried look in a chilton manual but it seems to concentrate mainly on gas engines. Here are pictures of the parts. The link I have provided will take you to pictures of the two items in question.

http://mypage.iu.edu/~kjcase/images/parts/what_are_these.htm

The picture on the right is a hose that is located on near the air filter box. There is another hose (blue) that is connected to the air filter box. But this particular hose I'm at a loss as to where it goes.

Picture on the right is a part that is located just above the turbo charger. There is the paturding little tube that I can't seem to figure out if there is a hose that connects to it. Is the hose above supposed to connect to this?

Thanks for your help!

Jerry

You need a better manual. I believe most of the Chilton manuals were produced
to a table of boxes that all had to be checked. A check in the box meant that
such and such task was completed without reference to quality.
Volvo, Bentley, or even Haynes would be a LOT better than Chilton.
Be sure and check for diesel coverage before buying also.
