940 GLE 1992 wiring with remote starter 900 1992

Hi all,

Given the success of the remote starter installation on my 240, I decided to proceed and install one on my 940 too.
940 1992 B234F ~70K miles immaculate sedan
Everything very neat and soldered... of course.

On the 240, I wired the "accessories" power directly to the fuse panel to run the blower and A/C compressor.

On the 940, I was thinking and it only made sense to me that there must be "accessory" power source at the ignition switch, to provide to the fuse panel when car is normally ON. Hence, I decided to avoid going to the fuse panel all together.

I wired up the typical +12V, starter, ignition - all at the back of the ignition switch. I also added the typical brake switch, parking lights, tach signal and ground needed for the remote start box.

All the above allowed me to program the remote starter and to use the remote to
start the car. OK.

Now for the "accessories" i.e. blower and A/C compressor... I figured that when the car is normally started the ignition switch would provide a voltage source to the fuse panel to run all these. The were two wires at the ignition switch which tested 12v with the switch ON, so I wired them up to the 25A relayed outputs of the starter unit. The accessories still do not run with the car started remotely. Of course they turn on once the key is turned ON.

Question:
I know that I can just tap blower & A/C compressor at the fuse panel and power those lines, but WHY does not everything run now??? As far as I am concerned, I have accounted for ALL connections behind the ignition switch, hence the starting "simulation" should be complete.

Unless the fact that it was 1:30 am when I was doing this....

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. can anyone confirm to me the tach signal I used is the right wire... Tracing the connection behind the instrument cluster I went with assumption that the red/white wire behind the tach was the tach signal (no schematic). It seems to have worked to program the starter box and car starts perfectly...

Greg,
Did your ignition switch harness have a large black wire? According to my wiring diagrams this wire feeds power into fuse #16 that powers up the manual climate control module(MCC) and the heater/ac fan circuit. This wire also feeds fuses #14 and #15, which power the cigarette lighter, radio, rear interval wiper relay, etc.

The red/white wire is the tach signal wire.

I could email you a copy of the fuse panel and climate control system if you would like.
