Anyone have a wiring diagram for the wire connectors for the oem radio?? I am trying to install new afermarket radio and the FAQ doesnt have the detail. I know I have to bypass the amp but I would like to know the various identities of all the wires. tx db

Do a google search on do it yourself stereo installation. I found a couple of good sites when I installed my new unit.

Wiring colors differ over the years. I have wire colors for 86 and 89's.
Also have pinouts for the amp, if you want to try powering that.
I tried that but it turns out the the wire which activates the amp must be shielded or it acts as an antenna for ignition noise (ie it worked fine when the car was not running).
I decided to remove the amp and use the built in amps of the radio, which as it tunrned out, were better the Volvo amp.

As mine is an 89 745tic then I could use the Wiring ids. I will not use the onboard amp and stick to the radio amp. Please send what you have to david.crilly@aero.org tx db

Am posting so anyone can access the info:
There are 6 wires on a connector plus the DIN cable.
Power connector-
pin 11 (2 wires)yellow/black and black- Ignition switch 12v power
pin 9 Green/brown- battery
pin 6 yellow/ white- 12v power from headlight switch
pin 12 red 12v with radio on, 0 with radio off (probably antenna power signal)
pin 8 green not sure of function
pin 10 black- chassis ground

For DIN connector:
viewed from plug side , numbered clockwise. These are line level outputs.
pin 1 violet- front left
pin 2 green - front right
pin 3 yellow- rear right
pin 4 orange- ground
pin 5 red - rear left
pin 6 blue - REM, 12v switched (amp ON signal)
case brown - circuit ground
