Question about installing rear seat on 244. 200

I am trying to put the inside of my 244 back together after some serious interior work including rebuilding front seats, removing carpet to steam clean, removing headliner, sunroof, etc. to fix leaks and line up sunroof, cleaning out all of the accumulated leaves and debris along the bottom of the doors and in the cowl vents, repairing odometer and multiple electrical problems. I am happy to say that thanks to the brickboarders, I've been able to make my 244 interior look like new and everything is working perfectly again (almost). I still have some suspension work and a couple of oil leaks to repair but that will all come in time. Maybe even a paint job. Who knows.

I have 2 problems left that I could use some help on. First, I didn't pay attention to how the rear seat was installed when I took it out and now am slightly confused as to how to put the bottom cushion back on. There are 2 brackets on the body (one on each side about 8 inches from the doors) that have a front hook and also a hook further back on the bracket. I believe it is the front hook that actually latches onto the seat cushion. Am I correct? And what do they hook onto? is it the metal bar that runs along the front edge or the 2 metal eyes on either side? when I try to use the metal eyes, the seat seems loose.

Second problem, after I thought I got all of the debris out from the cowl vents , some leaves are still coming inside from behind the center console when I get onto the highway. Where is it coming from and is there anyway to get it out? Thanks for any help.

Question about installing rear seat on 244. 200

As I recall, installation of the bottom cushion on teh rear seats of a 244 is fairly straightforward. First, shove teh back edge of teh cushion under the seat back. There is a bracket on the rear of the center tunnel that will catch onto a metal bar in the center bottom of the bottom cushion. Next, push bak towards the rear of the car hard on the lower face of the bottom cushion in about the places where you see the two brackets on the floor. These will clip onto the metal bar in the seat cushion and everything should be secure. The two rings I think you are talking about on the sides are for bendable metal tabs from the seat back to loop thorugh to hold the seat back in position.

I'm not referring to the metal eyes the back cushion has but on the bottom cushion toward the front, right behind the metal bar that runs the length of the cushion are two rectangular shaped metal bars (eyes) one on each side of the cushion.

Those brackets/bars/eyes hook onto the "claws" bolted to the floor. You have to brace yourself well to get a good push on the seat bottom to get the bars rearward far enough to hook into the claws. But as said earlier, first you have to get the rear of the seat bottom hooked onto its single, central claw.
