Valve Adjustment Tool to Borrow in Sonoma County? 200

Does anybody live in Sonoma County and have a valve adjustment/spring compressor tool I can borrow?

I checked my clearances last night and I only have one valve out of spec. (0.019") I can't bring myself to buy the tool or take it to a shop to adjust this one measly valve.

I've done it on VW diesels(same configuration)
with a screwdriver.I don't know where to get the
different thickness shims,
unless it's a dealer. Pik N Pul? Remember, VW Rabbitts
use the same shims; both gas and diesel!

VW Rabbitts
use the same shims; both gas and diesel!

Same type but I'm not sure about size. My son brought some home once, saying they were VW. When we compared to my stash, they were a smaller diameter.

One car that I know uses the same shims (because I had one and a buddy gave me a dealer shim set) is the FIAT 1.7L twin-cam from the '70s. Not many of them around though.
