Good tires for 780 turbo??? 700

I recently bought a 780 turbo and I need to replace the tires. It has michelin energy x??? on it now. Comfort and quietness are most important to me.
Thanks,

Good tires for 780 turbo??? 700

I have been very pleased with my Goodrich TA speed rated tires on my 940 turbo. They are not inexpensive, but worth it to me. Previous tires did not perform well on wet pavement, where these do.

Tire Rack Rocks! 700

Sunday evening I ordered Yokohama AVS ES100s and 16" Borbet E Series wheels from Tire Rack. Wednesday morning they were delivered UPS Ground, mounted and balanced and were on the car by the end of lunch. It's only been a couple of days, with mostly city driving, along with a short freeway run or two and a blast up a rainy canyon. I'm very happy so far, good in the wet, great under braking and quiet on the freeway. I would think them to be an excellent choice for the 780.

My first Tire Rack experience was very good and I will use them again.

Of all the tires I've ever bought, Michelin has been the best i've found. Buy locally, not mail order, so you have someone to go back to for balancing. Do you have a Sam's Club card? The company car I'm driving right now came with Michelin MXV Pilot Energy (yeah long name). When they wore out I thought I'd impress my boss by saving money on replacements-mistake. Ride quality, noise, handling (dry, wet, and snow),and fuel mileage ALL suffered. I never used to be a fan of Goodyear until I got a good deal on some for my wifes Volvo, an Eagle __ (I don't recall) and they've been excellent. If you're like me, I was shopping for a high perf touring tire, quiet, smooth, good mileage AND good grip. A number of years ago I had good luck with Pirelli, also. BFG makes good truck tires and I think they should stick there.

Lucky that the GY Eagles worked for you, but for me, the Eagle HPs (high performance, all season) sucked big time. Whenever it was raining, I had to start in 2nd gear just so I didn't get wheelspin all the time. Dry traction wasn't good either. Ditched 'em after like 5k miles - they were that worthless to me.

I am very pleased with Kumho's - very good tires at an excellent price. Read up on the ratings at TireRack and decide for yourself.

Kaneman, I second Turbogreasel with the Yokohoma avs db2. I got them and am very happy. Note that Yokohoma's make a lot of similar models. The db2's are V rated and quieter. Insist on that model. I recently purchased Kumho Ecsta ASX 205z55x16 and these seem good- I love that reinforced rubber rim protector to protect the rim. The assymmetrical tread pattern is a little quirky and the new tread does not appear that deep. But in all my research these tires were the best value to me. Don't be afraid to print a TireRack quote and show it to your Tire dealer. My America's Tire store and Sears price matched and saved me $80 one time and $60 the last time. Insist on the Hunter wheel balance machine for precision dynamic balancing. I've learned good tires are very satisfying!
