1990 240, 88k. Speedometer quit. Got a used one to work, in the mean time I would like to get the original one (88k) fixed and re-installed. Who knows who does this and does it well?

Is it the speedometer or odometer? If it's the odometer you replace a small plastic gear that is easy to replace and costs $29 shippedto you. The speedometer is probably a repair shop job. Dan

Get the gear with instructional video from iPd.

A fellow member here in SoCal bought the repair for the 850, and if it weren't for the video, he wouldn't have been able to do it. Granted, the 850's are a lot more complicated, but still - you get the idea.

Palo Alto Speedometer (www.paspeedo.com)

Not cheap, but VDO specialists, and our (1983) mechanical unit came back with a new face, new odo gears, calibrated exactly as I'd requested (shows 2MPH faster than actual at 60...but don't tell my daughter).
