Howdy!

Some of the fabric on our 960 (near the back most window to right) has been hangin loose for some time.

Does fabric glue sound like the best solution? Any suggestions/comments?

Additionally the headliner right behind the sunroof keeps rumbling! Its not the seat belts. Is there an easy fix to that?

I remember the good ol' days with hard headliners in my pops 240!
I wish they'd make em for the 960...

Best regards,
Al

The problem usually occurs because the foam backing gets hard and starts falling apart. If you glue it, I can tell you that It will only be a temporary fix.

It's a bit of a job, but you can replace the headliner yourself. The hardest part is getting the roof section out without damaging it. Taking the front seats out is the most sure way.

I can give you some tips if you want to try it yourself. Laying the new headliner material is easy, it the disassembly and re-assembly that is the most difficult.

THe glue which comes with IPD'd headliner kit is a spray on 3M product.
Maybe slit the headliner and then spray the underlayment?

Thanks for the tips. Replacing the whole thing would be the best solution. I'd probably find a fix for the rumbling.

Is the dealer the only source for the headliners?

Thanks for the quick responses!
Al

Find an auto trim shop where they do headliners and buy from them or order a roll online (or where-ever). I bought extra, incase I messed it up. You can buy the 3M rubber spay on cement just about anywhere you can buy auto parts (Autozone or general store).

To do the sun roof, your best to remove it. MAKE SURE THE MATERIAL YOU GET IS THE SAME THICKNESS AS THE ORIGINAL. If you get a thicker foam backing you may not be able to open and/or close the sun roof because of binding. Also make sure that you leave the fabric cover on the small pop-up section in the sun roof so that it keeps a smooth finished look (otherwise you'll see the every metal rib). If no fabric is there, stretch and glue a piece of any fabric across it.
