Its a three part question! 200

Number 1: I have an ECU core (Bosch Jetronic ending in 561)... I replaced mine a few years ago, and still have this one... Can I sell it to someone to "refurbish"? Whats my best course of action?
(ps if anyone whose reading is interested, lemme know...)
Number 2: Im dismantling my AC system which is nonfunctional and that means everything must go (compressor is SEIZED) Does any of this have value? Condensor, hoses etc?

Lastly, Im fairly certain my O2 sensor is gonna bite the dust very soon (the multimeter had nothing good to tell me!) Im pretty sure its not the AMM, that tested fine on the meter... Is there anything i can maybe add to the fuel that will clean out the exhaust system (cat, O2 sensor etc.)
I met with my mechanic who is strictly volvo/saab and he said "if it isnt adversely affecting the car, dont worry about it" Im not in the mood to buy a $150-200 O2 sensor if i dont have to.
Thoughts? Comments? Snide remarks?

Thanks

Spencer

    1) That ECU would be best sold, if not needed, here in Classifieds, or on Ebay, or on IPD's classifieds (www.ipdusa.com). Someone will surely want it. The failure rate of original 1989-90 561 models is, um, high.

    2) probably all no good. High likelihood of metal chips contaminating everything as the compressor let go. Maybe, maybe not, maybe Ebay or a classified ad for a few bucks, don't expect much.

    3) New O2 sensors seem to restore fuel economy, to the tune of 2-4 mpg across the board. YMMV. It's probably a worthwhile investment if the car is worth keeping. Most people, myself included, keep the old ones way too long. I have no proof that mine has ever been out of my '87. It turned 240,000 yesterday. It consistently gets 20-21 mpg. Many people here report better mileage with a 5-speed car like that. Maybe I drive too hard. MAybe I need a new O2 sensor. Probably we both do.

You should be able to find a universal O2 sensor for under $75.

I think I paid a little over $30 for my last one from NAPA on my jobber's discount. Sadly our NAPA is no more.

Shop around, from what I've checked in the past, the prices seemed to vary pretty widely.
