1991 vs 1985 Starter and Alternator 200

In the last 3k miles I replaced both the starter and alternator in my 1985 240DL. Last weekend I picked up a 1991 240 to replace the old girl. The question is, both the starter and alternator have lifetime warranties, so can I/do I swap them into the newer volvo. The newer volvo works just fine, but at 170k miles, the original alt/starter could be ready to go at any point.

So are they the same part or not?

FWIW my alternator went at 235,000 miles, the starter is still working fine at 315,000 miles.
I'd wait and keep them as spares.

Well I am about to try and sell the older volvo. I don't have the room to keep a parts car around. So I wanted to salvage the newer parts off of it ahead of time.

World Pac shows that the 5003804 alternator fits 85-93 and the 5003564 starter is the same, 85-93.

Here's a great source for checking parts interchangability between different years and versions of 240's:
www.fcpgroton.com

They're also a fine source for parts.
