Getting the throttle body nut out 700 1991

Hello,

I cant seem to get the nut(the one located upper right of the TB) as the TPS is wedged at the side. The damn nut is so tight and i dont want to spend 50 bucks
at the mechanic to get it cleaned!

Any ideas? Rather than the old method, chiselling the nut out?

Regards

I dealt with this yesterday. I used a shorter 1/4' drive 10mm socket, fitted it to the nut, then I loosly put the 3/8-1/4 reducer onto it. This gave me the hourglass shape needed to get around the TPS. I've done this several times w/o trouble. and never had to remove the TPS. Though I try and use the open-ended volvo wrench to reinstall as there's just enough room to maneuver *if* the is not turn too far.

Getting the throttle body nut out 700 1991

Hello Jack:
Funny coinkidink!! I did it yesterday also, but the nuts on my TB were 13mm. Removing the TB switch makes it a breeze..and you have to re adjust the switch anyway.
Cheers,

Use a hex wrench, take off the TB electrical switch...the use plenty of PB Blaster, let it soak for an hour (tea or beer break, your choice). the use a 6 sided socket and (excuse the French)...VOILA...
ask me how I know this....BWAAAHHAAHAAA
good luck,
