wiring. where to get it from. 86 volvo 740 GLE 700

I'm in the process of replacing the engine wiring harness today on my 1986 volvo 740 GLE and i'm in a bit of a situation. the engine wiring harness i bought is an updated one and is in great condition, but my front right fender well wiring harness has insulation damage where the wires have been exsposed. I'm sure i can repair this by cutting the wires where they are still good and resolder the wries with new, but I'm needing both male and female connectors that are in the grey connectors. I have my new IPD cataloge and they do have a repair kit but the price per wire is just a bit much $ 6.50 per wire (each). is there any other place i can go to get these connectors with or without the wire itelf?? what have you other volvo guys and gals ound that works and where did you get it?? i have to get this taken care of a.s.a.p. your help and feedback is really appreciated.

Respectfully,

Volve/Richard

If you care to take on making a new harness for the car I would contact a company called "Terminal Supply Company" and request the color catalog. This place has terminals for just about everything along with GOOD wire and loom materials. Find them at www.terminalsupply.com and they do have a somewhat limited online catalog that can get you going.

Try a junkyard. If you are talking about the plastic connectors, you might have some difficulty finding an undamaged replacement. I'm presently junking my 1986 740 GLE and while the harness is degraded, the plugs might be reusable. Can you send me pic of what you need?

Six Volvos: all wagons.... 1972 145S, 1976 245 DL, 1983 245 GL, 1986 740 GLE, 1990 740 GL, now a 1995 940. Number 7 (a 1967 122S Wagon) is on the way.... Who needs a sedan, when you've got storage compartments in a wagon?
