940 Sunroof won't close 900

My electric sunroof on my 940 will not close all the way. The passenger side rear corner is sagging below the roof line and I cannot open it in vent position. I can open it in fully open position but did notice the motor slows down just at the end when I try to close it. It just clocks when I try to open it in vent position.

I've read the FAQ section but have not been able to solve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated since the rain is coming!!!

Thanks
Tom

It's out of alignment. 900

I've dealt with this problem many times. Your cables are out of alignment with your motor.

Retract the sunroof partially, pull the sunroof motor and try to "re-align" it manually (grip the roof and shift it to get it back into alignment. I have had to do this many times. It may take a couple of tries and you'll have issues getting the motor back "just-right" as it has a dead spot that corresponds to the fully-closed position of the sunroof. Getting it all just right is a PITA. Be sure to check the cables when you remove the motor. IMHO these do not just "slip" out of alignment unless somthing has happened - either faulty service or a damaged cable.

ALternatively, get it as close as possible to the center/closed position. Pull the motor (don't run it while detached. Then take a flat-head screwdriver and "push" on the cables visible in the motor hole until you get the roof to close cleanly. Doing this allows to you move each track independently to get them back in sync. I've had less success this way and you risk damaging your coils. The previous method has generally been more successful for me. it's easy to pull the motor, run it for a sec and re-install to get it back to the "sweet-spot"

Good Luck!
