SRS Light 200 1993

This SRS light came on this week. I attempted to clear it per the instructions in the FAQ and also tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes, but the error does not clear. So it looks like a hard fail.

The error code is 5 = Air bag assembly resistance high

Any tips before I dive into this?

Thanks,
Ted

Hello,

I was wondering how you checked your SRS system?
Was it a DIY job with a scan light or something to that effect.

Ever since I've had my 92 244, the SRS light is ALWAYS on and I've been told that the airbag is "nonfunctional"

Any input would be great!

Thanks

Check out the 740/940 FAQ. The instructions for the older system applies to the 240 as well.

This is the most common code. this just means one of the connections has gone wacky, and needs cleaning or jigging. On my 91 245 the weird one is the one right by the bottem of the dash under the carpet a bit. Easy to spot since it is neon orange wire. Just undo the conecttor and wiggle is around and reconnect. Don't even thinkg about using sandpaper or anything on the connector itself as they are 24k gold plated.

Success.

I disconnected and reconnected the connector a couple times, reset the code, and all is good.

THANKS!
