93 940 Spindle Nut Size? 900

Can anyone give me the size of the spindle nut on the 93 944? I've not found it in the FAQs.

Thanks Much,

93 940 Spindle Nut Size? 900

Dear Will,

Good p.m. and may this find you well. If you mean the nut, that holds the wheel hub to the stub axle, I believe that's a 36mm.

If you mean the bolt, that holds the crank pulley onto the crankshaft, I believe that's a 26mm.

I hope that someone else, will confirm these, as I've not had to remove these recently.

Yours faithfully,

spook

Hi Spook,

I checked the nut with a caliper and it measured 1.47" across the flat. If I can find the socket in 1/2". I'm in business.

Thanks,

Dear Will,

Good p.m. 1.42" = 36mm. I believe Sears has 36mm sockets, in a 1/2" drive. They should be less than $10.

Best of luck.

Yours faithfully,

spook
