940 GL: Fuel Consumption Is High Recently 900 1995

Hi Team,
Am driving 940 GL auto; manufactured 1995.

Recently I have notice the fuel consumption is getting higher and the performance started to degrade.

Here are the list of parts was changed

- air filter
- oil filter
- engine oil
- timing belt with all other belt together
- fuel filter
- spark plug
- radiotor cooler
- battery was changed

· am using all standard original parts when replaced them
· idle valve & throttle body was serviced

Could someone advise me what to check and where to begin?
If necessary kindly provide the complete engine diagram atleast help to allocate the devices.

I would appreciate your assistance & consideration in sharing some info.

Thank you

I have seen an ECT failure, another rich running situation, where the engine ran ok but the gas mileage was in the 18 MPG range.

Also could be leaking intake manifold gasket-check with carb cleaner or ether sprayed on it-if idle increases,it's leaking.Could also be catalytic converter-partially plugged-a mechanic could check this.sredwine 94 940T 158K miles

Are you noticing a rich mixture? It is possible for the mixture to enrichen due to failing fuel pressure regulator, faulty oxygen sensor, or leaking fuel injectors. See the 700/900 FAQ in "engine: performance" for tips (under the "features" button above).
