240 lug nuts 200 1989

Does anyone knows where to get lug nuts for my 240 sedan? try the one from Pepboy they don't fit, I hate to order from FCP just for a few nuts.
What size? and where I can get them local store.

Thanks

TAKE ONE NUT FROM EVERY 240 YOU PARK NEAR 200 1989

Joking, of course, but I DID get home once after losing a loose wheel, by taking one from each of the remaining 3 wheels and securing the 'lost' hub with just 3 nuts...worked fine for the 10 miles.

    Good Luck

240s use 1/2" lugnuts, 740s are Metric. I picked up some at AutoZone for about 50 cents. They also had the studs in stock, for about the same price.

Tommy, for some reason, lots of parts books insist 240s use metric lug nuts.

    THEY DO NOT!!

1/2" x 20 is the correct lug nut.

Go to NAPA for better quality at the same price. Should be about a buck.

    Junkyard - better quality! 200 1989

I've bought lug nuts from fcp; I live 10 minutes from them. Great guys.

They don't fit the threads like the Volvo nuts do.
Volvo nuts have threads that fit very snug.
    Generic ones fit more loosely.
It's not the "thread pitch", but the depth and width of the V-cut that must be different.

Anyway, I grabbed a few the last time I was in a junkyard.
That's my favorite for Volvo nuts.

I found some at Autozone that fit. I asked them to look up the right match in their computer and they had them in stock.

The 700 and later cars use metric nuts and the replacements usually say "metric" right on them. The 200's like you are looking for are still SAE or standard. The 1/2"x20 sounds about right, with that being said most any 1/2"x20 acorn style lug nut should do the job.
