In the midst of the total ripout of my heater core, the mechanic doing the job in my garage, a recent tech school graduate, got offered a job, and decided to blow town ! Now my '80 242GT is in pieces in the garage, and I'm looking for someone who's up to the task.
Core is out (decided to use the chainsaw method, so there's a hole to repair in the right side of the box); need to finish extracting the rest to replace blower motor and heater control valve, which I was going to do while the thing was ripped apart. All supports, etc., are removed; wires are "hanging loose" but are connected to their respective switches where applicable. I have the new switch for the new blower motor, also.
I know there are many on this board and others who recommend anybody with half a greasy thumb should try to do this, given enough hours to devote to it, but I frankly don't trust my own abilities that far, particularly when it comes to reassembly of a car I didn't tear down. If anybody knows an indie mechanic or backyard wrencher in the Columbus, Ohio area who might undertake this, I'd really appreciate it. The car can be worked on in-place, or is drivable in its present condition.
Readers who aren't members but have someone to suggest can respond to me at schnauzer02DIESPAMMERSCUMsbcglobal.net (replace DIESPAMMERSCUM with the symbol before the domain name).
Thanks !!!
