Stainless Steel Clutch Hose for an 1800 1800

I went to change the clutch hose on my '64 1800. I found that stainless steel ones were not to be found... IPD said they had tried for years to get them made with out success....

Being a mechanical engineer I was really not content with that answer... I contacted several hydraulic vendors and got two made. I have now been running one on my car for awhile.

If other folks are interested in getting a SS clutch hose. I will be getting a batch made and offering these for $42 (that's with shipping via USPS priority to the states, overseas a bit more). IPD has basic rubber ones for $29 but these are cooler and are not soft. Sort of like when you replace rubber brake lines with SS.

Drop me a note if you wish to be included in this order. I think that I will put in an order next Friday (May 20th).

Thanks

Interesting response from IPD. Had one on my MGB for many years now (dunno if it helps, I certainly like it) that was made by goodridge, same guys that make the brake hoses.

It is possible to have them custom made by Pegasus Racing Supply to whatever dimension/end fitting you desire too (dunno price).

On the other end of the spectrum, I had one made as a replacement (stupid owner trick) by a local hydraulic supply house.
