1993 240 Classic Headlamps screwy!

I turn switch to park: park lights come on. I turn switch to head lamps: park lights go out, instrument cluster lights go out.

I replaced the switch and have the same problem. Could this be the hi/lo relay? I'm not sure if it is because when I pull back on the turn signal lever, the brights come on.

Can anyone help me?

i have a 1993 240 Classic Wagon (#56-1600 or less nowdays) and i have faced the same problem. I could not figure out what had happened so instead i desided to jsut drive wiht my low's and put in a set of EXON lights. If all else failes jsut rewire the sysem to a diffefent switch

I've recently had the exact same problem with a '90 740; it turned out to be relay (small silver relay). To be honest I didn't check if the parking lights went out - most obvious were the dash and taillights going out.
