A ride with J parker 140-160

Last night I meet with J Parker to give him a brake booster and have a ride in his supercharged 142. The supercharger fits in the car very well looks like it belongs there. the car was not a impressive as the ride. We were on the open road dooing 45 or so and he floored it I have never see A volvo take of so fast. His test bed of a car had stock exhaust and a tired engine . he said it put out 180 hp and I believe it.Thanks for the ride John.

Joel the locksmith.

$300 for sad old Volvo.
$3000 for a supercharger kit.
$300 speeding ticket.
Priceless!!!

Nice! I'd like to get one of those on my PV sometime. Either that or buy a rusty 240 Turbo for $1k and stick that motor in.

Joel, would you please keep stuff like this to yourself... ;^)

I reckon a supercharger would be a great item, though a tad pricey. It does give the most bang for the buck I think. Increased power right from idle to the red line. Awesome stuff. I think it's great John sells this stuff as bolt on kits.

cheers, ben

The exhaust was stock so not much sound out of there. You could hear more air going into the engine. So there was some more noise than stock. But you did not have to yell to be heard.

I have a clip of Cameron's car on the dyno if you want it... 140-160

Well, actually it's part of a big clip, wmv file, but it's in there. My friend and I went in a ride in it, and it was LOUD, but that's mostly the exhaust.

Joel, was it an injected version or was it using the single DCOE weber?

John is using a motercycle carburator from japan. He said that in a effort to get the latest in carburation that he went where more work is beening done to improve power and milage.. AS all cars now have fuel injection.and Weber engeering is some 40 or more years old

I'm hoping to have the car at Carlisle on Sat if I can get enough other work done this week. Its bright yellow. Not much to look at as it has previous owner paint and body work. Also some rust spots from winter driving. But it is what it's supposed to be - an example of what you can get by bolting our supercharger onto a basic 142.
And to correct JohnMc, the car went for $500 without the supercharger.

Heh - I was just picking more poetically flowing numbers!

Just curious - have you ever test fit a supercharger on a motor sitting in a PV? I was sort of thinking of MegaSquirting my PV using D-Jet parts - but when I was putting the motor back in I tried a D-Jet mani on the motor prior to bolting the DCOE's back on, and it was about 2 inches away from clearing at the front end of the tapered engine compartment.

John,

I think I know the car. Did it have a black interior and power windows put in?

Andrew
