Source for heater water valve? 900

I am thinking of replacing the heater water vavle for preventive measures. Fcpgroton's costs $14.00. But it's MTC brand, which I did not read a lot good thiings from this message board. Local advanced auto has it for $10, looks very cheap. Volvo dealer wants $82 for the platic valve. I wonder where I can get a good quality one with reasonable price. Thanks

Feedback on MTC brand Water Valve..........Source for heater water valve? 900

There is another post on this same topic, in the last few weeks. It looks like the MTC valve is in broad use by others and there are no problems reported. Anyone have any negative feedback on the MTC water valve? I have one that I am about to install in my 940.

I'd agree with Spook. I have used Borton on several occasions and have been satisfied with their pricing and service.

Good Luck.

Dear Masupra,

Good p.m. If you want a Volvo part, try www.borton.com. They're a Volvo dealer in Minneapolis, which supplies the real thing, at reasonable prices. I got two sets of heater hoses from them, at roughly $30 for each hose, delivered. These hoses, as you know, are hard to get at, and - like the heater valve - their failure means catastrophic coolant loss.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

spook
