Just got back the '88, something's wrong with it... 200 1988

Well, I just got around to picking up the '88, it had been on a long term loan to a friend... Anyhow, when i go in reverse, there's this loud, repetitive popping that seems to be coming from in the front passenger wheel well. This also happened once when making a sharp turn (can't remember if i was in reverse then though, lol). Anyone have any ideas? I'm debating selling this car, but it all depends on what's wrong with it (it might not pass emissions either, but i think i can find a way around that). So...any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are the lug nuts tight on that wheel? Is the sound effected by roadspeed, turning, or braking?

Mine was a strut that needed replacing. Made the clunk / pop noise when turning right.

I'll go with Strut as well.

Had similar symptoms when mine went dead. Replaced them, not a noise since.
