belly pan 900 1995

Does anyone if there is a supplier of aluminum belly pans for 940s? I'm tired of the front corners breaking off at the bolt hole; this time on one that is only a few months old. I have one for our 240T. I like it and would like to find something comparable for our 945T.

    See IPD 900 1995

www.ipdusa.com sells aluminum belly pans. 'though I prefer the plastic ones bolted with some wide washers as Spook suggests. I got my aftermarket plastic pan for less than $30.00 and it's held up fine.

I bought the aluminum one for our 240 from IPD, but do not see one for 940s or 740s. I like the suggestions below to use large washers, particularly flexible ones.

      Dear Repairmanjack,

Good a.m. and may this find you well. Where on IPD's website, is the metal splash pan for Volvos. I saw only the ABS (polymer) model, at http://www.ipdusa.com/ProductsCat.aspx?CategoryID=51&NodeID=854&RootID=629

Thanks for your help. I'm much obliged.

      Yours faithfully,

      spook

    Dear guri r,

Good p.m. and may this find you well. I've never heard of anyone supplying a metal splash shield for the 940s.

One way, to protect the corners, is to put a large diameter washer (say 1-1.5" / 25-37 mm) between the screw head and the plastic. This spreads out the load imposed by the screw, when it is tightened. By so doing, the washer makes it less likely, that the plastic will crack.

If you can find a stainless steel washer, you should not have to worry about corrosion.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    spook

Good point about the washers spook. I got one from FCP Groton for under $30 and I think nylon washers will achieve what Spook suggested with perhaps less "strain" on the plastic corners.
