Seafoam? How good? 200

Hey all,

I was gonna go pick up some seafoam at the advice of some our fellow brickboarders...

I've been told that in order to help with carbon deposits and low compression in the cylinders, to add seafoam into "the carburetor jets or throttle body" or "vacuum line or brake booster line" so it disperses it equally to all the cylinders...

Im going to try to avoid sounding like an idiot, but whats the best way to add this stuff into the compression chamber? I plan on adding it to the fuel and crankcase oil, so any advice would be helpful...

there is a good thread on turbobricks about this.
I don't think it does anything one way or the other.
Car will still run. You'll be different, but the car will be the same.
If this was an important exercise it'd get done and referred to a lot
more than it is.

I am going to piggy back this thread. I fear causing severe harm to my brick. So what is the best, idiot proof method of seafoaming, other than just adding it to the gas tank? Is there anyone in Houston who is experienced that would help a guy out?

I've used Sea Foam on several different cars, but not by Volvo. This is what I can tell you from personal experience.

My wife had a 91 Geo Metro convertible. Metros built before 1992 had lifters with a bleed hole so small that it would clog, causing valves to stick open and burn. The updated parts package to fix the problem costs 3 or 4 hundred dollars. Using Sea Foam not only immediately cleared up the sticking lifter problems in my wife's Met, but using it a couple of times a year kept it from recurring.

I fed it through the brake booster vacuum line when I did that part of the cleaning. The important part with the Metro was adding it to the oil.

I have a Toyota Tercel, a 1986 with 264k miles on it. The head has never been off the car. These cars are notorious for carbon build-up causing pinging. Using Sea Foam twice a year has cleared the carbon problem on mine.
