Replacing stock jack 200

I had broke the stock jack after a blow-out just north of California in my 245 on a road trip to In-N-Out Burger. I went over a year without replacing it until I flatted out last weekend near Pimainus Lake (50 km from any paved road). Luckely, a Ford Explorer happend to drive by and let me use his jack. Did a fine job and way easier to use than the scissor jack that came stock in my Volvo. Even the lug wrench fit and had more leverage. Botton line: I went to a Ford wrecker and grabbed one out of a 96 Explorer.

I always liked the Bar jack that you got in the very early 240s.

My '80 came with the scissor jack as well, and I never felt as confidant as I did with the old pipe looking jack that was in my '77.

I agree on the bar jack -- it's the same one that came with the 140 series.

In fact, I'm still using the jack from my 1969 142s to this day. The lifting points didn't change from the 140 to the 240 series, so it fits perfectly.

It's a bit slow to raise, but very secure. OTOH, the top of the scissors jack that came with my 85 was completely bent, and unusable.

Volvo should have stayed with the old style...
