Cleaning out A/C system S90-V90

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has used 'KOOL-IT Evaporator & Heater Core Foam Cleaner' (by LubeGard, re: www.lubegard.com) for their A/C system and if so, please tell me if you would recommend it or not and why.

Or if you haven't used this product but a similar product or method to neutralize A/C odors, then please share, if you don't mind.

I still have a musty smell when using the A/C (I posted a message a few years back regarding this to the board). In addition, the A/C blower stays on for a long time after turning off the engine. I do use a combination of internal air and outside air when driving, plus I live in the desert which is very dry during the hot season (except for August).

Thanking in advance, RivDog

It works, but you need to spray it directly on the evaporator surface. Drill a hole in the plenum to do this, or remove the blower resistor to gain access. I started with a spray bath of Chlorox & detergent water, then followed with a rinse of plain water (using a garden sprayer and a flexible hose). I then sprayed with the mold remover. It worked.

Have the same issue on '95 850.. opened the cowl air intake and sprayed Lysol in as fan was running full speed.. almost no change.. tried again with clorox, musty smell is gone.. but it now smells like an indoor pool when the A/C starts ..
