Door stop help 1800 1970

Hello All,
The door stop on the driver side just won't keep the door open and annoyingly bumps into my knee ever so often. Can anyone advise on the repair of these door stops. It seems intact
Thanks in Advance

Door stop help 1800 1970

My 1800 has the same problem. The fix is to replace the stopper mechanism. The problem is you need to remove the door to swap it out.

I found the replacement piece on ebay - can't remember the seller. Try p1800.com or other suppliers. Mine is being replaced while I'm having the car repainted (doors off).

Steve,

Who is painting your car? I am trying to make a final decision on who to select to paint my ES and wanted to know if you had made a selection. I am in the same city as you (your fiance took my business card one day after you dropped her downtown). Sorry I missed the meeting last year. My transmission went on the way bacK from Charelston, SC.

Thanks for a reply.

Steve M.

OK, I remember that.

I'm using an independent local guy named Tim Briggman. He does excellent metal work, very detail oriented.

I'll be driving out to his shop in Matthews to check on the car this saturday. You could meet me out there with the ES and talk to Tim about getting work done, and see what he has done to my coupe. Send an email to growler at unideal.net.
