When changing the oil, should I pour some oil in the new filter when I install it?

The car is a 1984 245 TI. Thanks for any information and happy bricking.

I always do this. Keeps the pressure up on startup, which is important for the one start.
As long as the filter has a proper anti-drainback valve you will not subject the motor to a lack of pressure any other time.
As usual, if this was an issue with these cars you would know about it, and it's not.
As long as you are using enough of some kind of engine oil, the motor will be fine.

I never done it for my 740. Just put a touch of oil on the rubber gasket,
don't know justification for that, but it is recommended everywhere, and I do it.

I would not bother with it, it will just make a messy oil change messier and truthfully the micro second it takes to prime that filter is not going to harm anything.
