Any tricks on getting the instrument cluster free? 120-130

I've crawled around under my HUGE steering wheel and released the two securring nut, but I can't get the instrument cluster free. It just flops arounf in there and I can't get it out. Do I have to pull *ALL* of my switch wiring just to get my cluster out?

After detaching the speedometercable (on the right side of when you look from the drivers position)and those two screws, you should also disconnect the fuelgauge-wiring (another two screws) and the whole watertemperature gauge (two screws again) because it's fixed with it's wire (be carefull, this should not bend or crack, it's filled with fluid and doesn't work without that). When all lights are disconnected as well, you should be able to turn the unit on its belly an pull it out in the direction of your steeringwheel, this way you can keep the switches in place (if your hand were small enough to work through the previous steps).

So, no tricks...
