Fixing AC vents S90-V90

I have an S90 1998. I got instructions on how to fix the air vents for my AC through this forum. Apparently, my ac is working but air is not blowing through the main vents. Looks like I won't be able to fix it at home and planning to take it to the shop. Does anyone know how much this kind of work will cost at a shop?

Could be a couple of reasons why the vent doors are not opening. If it is a vac leak, then you might hear a hissing sound and not have enough vaccuum to open them up. If the bellows themselves are leaking, it could be a considerable job to replace them. I had a situation a few years ago with a bad control module that sits under the dash on the passenger side. I was told it would cost about 200 for a new module since it is only available OEM from volvo. Replacement was pretty quick. I ended up pulling the module out and resoldered all the connections which had numerous fractures (cold solder joints). That fixed the problem. It could also be something related to the control switch on the front. Again its hard to say what it is without going deeper into it.

I had the main vacuum belows go out on mine, the one on the drivers side that has two vacuum hoses going to it. When the car was ideling the air would come out of the vents but when you pressed on the gas the air would stop.
I unhooked the side that was bad on the vacuum motor and plugged the hose coming to it with a golf tee and haven't had any trouble since.
Your problem may just be one of the check valves under the hood on the vacuum lines.
      Hope that helps
