Can I get a better heater control unit from a pick - n - pull? 200 1986

I know they upgraded the heater control in later model 240's.

would it be worth it to pull one out of a '90 model and install it in my '86

or should I just buy a new one from the dealer?

my heat is always hot and only cool in the coldest position.

thanks,

jack

I don't know, but I can tell you what NOT to buy. The $45 plastic POS replacement made by Scantech ( Scam-tech) that FCP Groton is selling. It is the cheapest, flimsiest looking hunk of junk I have ever seen. I wouldn't install it on my lawn tractor, certainly not on my 240. It's going back.

I agree, I bought this POS about 1 1/2 years ago, complained and got no where. It is hot all the time.

Find an old style, from what Art Benstein told me they are adjustable ..... there is a little screw mechanism that adjusts the spring/flap valve type opening ....
      Good luck
