intake/exhaust manifold seperating? 140-160

Hi,
I am about to pull my carbs and manifold off of my '72 142. I'm looking for a vacuum leak so I am replacing all of the gaskets and checking for cracks in the siamese intake/exhaust manifold. If I have tocut the manifold to seperate the two, (I have an aluminum intake if I need it)is their a best spot to cut it? ...and what is the best tool to use?
I haven't looked at it yet, so this question may be a bit premature, but I figured I should get involved with as much info as possible.
Thanks,
CU

I would leave it together. Especially if you drive in very cold weather the
combined manifold will give you improved driveability, and if you disable or
remove the secondary throttle butterflies, very nearly the same performance.

      Hi George,
I am only planning on seperating it if the intake portion is cracked and that is where I am getting the vacuum leak from.
I do live in NY, (no not in the city...a few hours north) and yeah, it can get below zero some ngiths in the winter or hover around zero durring the day for a week or two so if I don't have to seperate it I won't.

      Thanks,
      CU
