P 1800 Seat Replacements 1800 1973

I am looking to either refurbish the existing leather seats on a 73 P-1800 Es or replace at least the front seats with other volvo seats. Any ideas where I could either refurbish it or what seats would fit this car?
Thanks.

I also got seats, for my 69, from Don. I priced the job locally as well. I believe I may have gotten a slightly better job locally, but couldn't begin to match the price. The local seats were going to be about $1,100 in vinyl. Got leather from Don for about $300 less (all expenses included).

I just received my two new front seats from Don Thibault of P1800.com. My total cost was $728.00 which included the two front seats in leather, shipping and insurance to deliver to me and shipping and insurance to return the cores. Don has a $150.00 core charge for the seat components that he includes when he makes the seats up for buyers.

He will send the seat bottom (which in the case of my 73 ES snap to the frame) and the seat back that has certain components included (these are the CORE items that you will return once received). As the bottom sliding track and frame are not included, you should inspect the sliding track for damage. My track was broken during a previous accident and I never knew it until pulling the seats. If you are missing the lumbar knobs or the plastic that fits on the chrome back adjustement, you will still need to get these as they are not included in the deal.

Also, prior to purchase, he sent me leather samples to review to make sure I was comfortable with the color (Lt Blue) as well as the leather quality.

I spent a couple of hours removing the seats, dismantling them, transferring the parts from the old to the new, packaging the old core in original boxes, and assembling the new seats. Will install after painting and carpet installation is completed.

Was a great set-up as you will not have to remove the old seats and send them out for refurbishing for what could be 4-6 weeks. Not fun driving on egg crates. Be prepared to wait a minimum of 6 weeks depending on Don's workload. I will attest however that the end product for the price is well worth the wait. He really did a nice job!

Don Thibault seems to do it for $650:

I've got 164 seats in my '66. The factory steering wheel makes for an interesting fit but you can drive these cars with your knees anyway. The seats worked out very well since the ones that came in the car were not Volvo seats. I'd be hard pressed to tell you exactly what they were. There is some guy in New England, I think, who refurbishes 1800 seats. I've heard comments on his work and none of them were bad. I think I would go with that rather than try to find seats that fit and look good. Just my preference. I'm sure someone who reads your post will come up with that fellow's name.

Thanks for the suggestion. And someone did give me his name. Don Thibault.
Take care.
