removing rear view mirror 200

I know it just pulls off, but I am afraid I am going to break it. I have pulled quite hard, and its a little bit loose, but it won't come off. I just want to make sure I am pulling on it the right way. I don't want to break it. It has a black cover, and they are hard to come by in the bone yard (most are white).

Yup, you just pull it off.

Grasp it by the arm, not by the mirror, to avoid just breaking opff the ball in the mirror. DMHILK

Pull hard in the direction of the crease between the front seat back and bottom.

In fact, I did a sort of karate chop whack/grab to get mine off.

The plastic cover will likely be brittle from age. Be careful, the little clips crack off real easy.

Good Luck,

Bob

The base of the mirror arm has a ball that snaps up into the bracket in the ceiling. So just grab the mirror arm and pull down. The mirror (with arm) is designed to yield (snap off) in the event of something hitting it in an accident.

The cover is attached to the mirror arm base, it will come off with the mirror, don't try to take it off first.

Grab, give sharp jerk straight down, mirror comes off.

Now you can pinch the clips that hold the cover together and take the cover off.
