Cooling fan relay 700 1986

Cooling fan at condenser not running on 1986 740 and suspecting fan relay but cannot find. Don't see anything under the hood (where it is on my 940) and wires appear to be running through fire wall, so suspect it is inside behind dash or glove box some place.

Thanks for any help,

Gary

Have you tried jumpering the radiator switch to see if it turns in (with key on)?

According to the Volvo green book they are both located on the relay board behind the ash tray. One is in the front row all the way to the left "124 relay, power window + electric cooling fan" the other one is on the right side of the relay/fuse panel in the rear "134 ignition advance relay (B230FT)"

Mark
Is this a different one from the under-the-hood version on my 88 760T? On my car there's a relay for the fan--the one that looks like the radio suppression (fuel injector) relay and that is adjacent to it beside the power steering reservior. Is there yet another?

Steve, on that year model it is just the radio interference relay under the hood over by the coolant expansion tank

Thank you sir. That fan hasn't been coming on much lately, whereas it usually will if the ambient temp is over about 70 and the car has just been running hard. But yesterday in 90 weather it wasn't on, so I swapped in another relay and it started. Then a few hours later--in equally hot weather--no fan. So I thought something else might be amiss...Thanks again!
