Owners;

Are the terminals Ring type (if so, what size stud, #8 or so?) or Push-on? Please also state vehicle model and year of manf.

...you can probably guess what this info is for...

My "64 has spade terminals. The switch works, but the power is not reaching it. I powered it directly for the time being.

On ebay, I found a guy who makes switches for hot rods (a lot of guys move the master cylinder under the floor to make the engine compartment neater) He makes waterproof mechanical and hydraulic switches. He claims that his hydraulic switch triggers with much less pressure than conventional switches.

1953 PV444 - push on spade connectors
1960 Amazon-S - screw on each side for round connector, up top on firewall at brake line union

'63 544 - push-on connectors - two male terminals on the switch. I put a new switch on when rebuilding the car from its 17 year nap as the original wasn't working, haven't had trouble with it since then (6 years, 35K miles)

I'd just go with hwat you use for the 122 kit... Seems to vary a lot. I've seen spade connectors, bullet connectors, and screw on connectors (though the last one wasn't on a Volvo... that's what the Jag has)

On my 1967 Duett (P210) there is also the VW type switch, In fact, last year at Carlisle, I bought several switches from a VW supplier for only about $3.00 each. These switches have the push-on type terminals.

For some reason, these switches dont seem to like silicon brake fluid and they only seem to last a year or so.

My '60 has bare wire ends going into the terminals with a screw through the front end to press the wire to the terminal. I don't know the origin of the switch, but it has been there since I bought the car in 1984.

Well, it seems to me that Cameron said just about all there is to be said on that subject, and you'll have the rest of that VIRTUAL Jaegermeister all for yourself. The hangover should be pretty ephemoral.

I've dealt with these switches on the following: 1957 444, 1957 445, 1959 544, 1962 544 and 1965 544 (plus lots and lots of 122s and 1800s). All of them had the same switch.

Push-on terminals. Switch has male spades. Exactly like a 122's pressure activated switch, which is identical to the 2 terminal switches used on VW Bugs and zillions of other cars.

They're available at every auto parts store in the US for just a few bux... I paid $4.50 a few months ago at the local VW supplier for the one in my 444. ipd has 'em, too.

Alternatives: a dome light switch from almost any brand of car door; or a glove box lightswitch (also from almost any car that had one); or a switch as found in an aftermarket alarm system, is easily mounted to the floor such that it activates the lights when you step on the pedal. This, too, costs just a few bux and is dead simple to engineer.
