On Friday night I installed the IPD Sport Exhaust kit on my 1992 245. I was surprised that the job went as well as it did. I went very slow and it took me about 3 hours from start to finish. The kit came with very good instructions and all of the parts went together well. I only had a little difficulty getting the old system off after the cat. I do not notice any improvement in horsepower, but the exhaust is a little louder (especially on start-up). I'll have to see how loud it is at highway speeds.

A timely post and very interesting. Glad it went well for you. I was just going to post here asking if anyone's using the 'turbo' muffler WITH the Resonator.

I currently have the turbo muffler without a Resonator on the 245GL and it is a bit 'boomy' around 3000 rpm. But that's my 'sportwagon' with an M46 etc so the sound all adds to the fun, right!

But the cat's gone on the new DL wagon and it's been Midasized in the meantime and I have the Volvo Resonator, so I was going to re-do the whole exhaust and was wondering about using the 'turbo' or regular OEM volvo exhaust.

I installed mine about 2 1/2 years ago. Pretty easy install as you said.

Here is my take....I have mixed feelings about mine overall. Louder at idle and on the highway except at 75 or 80 and above - sounds good at high speeds! Boomy at times around town. I noticed a slight improvement in power when punching it at medium to high revs. Think it breathes a little better??

Will have to think long and hard before buying another. If I keep my car long enough, next time I'm probably more inclined to buy a Volvo factory system as I've heard the prices have come down....Or maybe a Bosal, sounds better than a Starla and is quieter than an IPD.
