What are the pressure specs. for a/c clutch cycling switch (r134a retrofit)? 200 1991

Looking for the compressor cut-in/cut-out pressure specifications for the clutch cycling switch on a 91 240. The system is an orifice tube set-up and has been retrofitted to r134a with the Volvo kit (white-yellow orifice tube). Thank you in advance. dan in PA.

What are the pressure specs. for a/c clutch cycling switch (r134a retrofit)? 200 1991

On the factory r134a, the Low Pressure switch works between 23psi and 45psi.

This year my '93 940 compressor runs but the clutch doesn't seem to cycle off. Must be I have enough pressure to close the LP switch to get the clutch, but the low side pressure doesn't make it up to 45psi for clutch cycling.

What are the pressure specs. for a/c clutch cycling switch (r134a retrofit)? 200 1993

On my '93, the compressor cycles on and off. Sometimes kind of frequently, other times what would seem "normal". I haven't been able to find any info in any of the manuals as to whether or not this is normal. Some people have told me the compressor should always stay on with this system others say it should cycle. Regardless, it blows ice cold air and I have to run the fan on low once it gets the interior cooled down. FWIW....

I believe it should cycle, based on some google searches last summer. The system is generically known as a CCOT (Clutch Cycling Orifice Tube) type.

Beyond that, I don't know much about it. Mine doesn't seem to cycle when idling, like (i think) it did last year. Vent temp only in high 40's, at idle(90°F ambient). But low 30s on the road, with fan at mid setting. So I guess it's chilling OK. I don't idle it much anyway.
