Volvo Wagon 200 1993

Hello, I have a Volvo with 129,800 miles. It runs fine with the exception that when the engine get warm vice start up in the morning (cold). The idle when cold, it is fine and runs fine, when warm, the idle wants to kill unless I rev it up about 1500 to 2000 RPM for 30 seconds or so. When I let the gas off,the idle is fine and and the car runs okay. My wife just informed me that it has been doing this a few weeks. the car gets good mileage, and no other oddities. Any ideas? I am thinking maybe the fuel injectors may need to be cleaned or rebuilt. I run branded gas and fuel filter changed every 30K. thanks for the potential help. Steve

Hi Angel,

I would clean out the throttle body and the idle control valve as per the archives on the brickboard.

Also, check for vacuum leaks around the injectors, intake manifold, and accordion air intake tube.

Best of luck,

Tony
