Michelin Harmony (Tire Kingdom) vs Michelin X at BJ's 200

Hmmmm....just looking for ideas. I recently purchased a set of Michelin tires for my mini-truck. They are nice tires, Michelin X radials. Price was good etc. I just noticed an add for Tire Kingdom here in Florida and they advertise the Michelin Harmony at the same price. Any opinions as to which is the better tire? The Michelin X or the Michelin Harmony for a Volvo 240 wagon.

Thanks for your opinion!

Sincerely,

JBeechcraft

Michelin Harmony (Tire Kingdom) vs Michelin X at BJ's 200

Just put a full set of Harmony 205/70-14 on Ole Reliable ... sidewall MUCH stiffer than the Premia tourings I was running before ... but am having trouble with one of the back tires and balance ..or out of roundness ... shakes at between 68 and 73 mph then smoothes out again which leads me to believe that it is a balance problem. Have had the rear tires re-balanced by the dealer ... think I'm going back there tomorrow and take the manager out for a drive .... Anyone else got any ideas which it may be Balance or not round ?

Go with the Michelin X 200

I've always had the Michelin X's on my Volvos.
They last 70 to 80K and are great in wet weather.

Michelin X Radials are the X-1's (no longer sold as such)now marketed at BJ's and Costco's. I heard that Michelin had troubles with rubber degradation over time (Because they lasted so long - hahaha)?

Anyways the X radial is great in our MD winters (slush and wet snow), great in the wet (Full depth sipes).... I'd go for the X's!

Michelin Harmony (Tire Kingdom) vs Michelin X at BJ's 200

I have had both on my 240 sedan before it was totalled. The Michelin Harmony were, IMHO, far superior to the Michelin X-One. Quieter, smoother, lasted longer. Although I have always been a Michelin fan, my experience with another of their tires, the Michelin Symmetry, made me rethink my allegiance; I will no longer pay for the Michelin name when their tires no longer live up to their reputation.

I have used Cooper SLEs, Regatta II, and Tiger Paws with good results.

Recently purchased the Harmony's (P195/75R14) for our 240 Wagon. They're great tires. There does not seem to be much difference between the X Radial DT and the Harmony. Both have 80,000 mile warranty, both handle 1400 lbs at 35 PSI. Handling and Tread wear are rated the same and both have the same speed rating.

On the other hand, the X is rated a bit quieter whereas the Harmony is rated a bit better on Winter and Wet Traction -- but they both have really good ratings.

Overall, they appear almost identical.

I think the Harmony is a more conservative and older model tire, used on, say, Lincoln town cars. The X is an updated version of the Symmetry, I'm told. I think the X would be better suited for a Volvo wagon.
