Electric Window Problem 200 1990

A few months ago my ac unit seized and at the same time my electric windows stopped working. Although my mechanic installed a belt to bypass the ac unit, for some reason whenever I try to raise or lower the electric windows the fuse blows. Anyone have any idea? If I short the fuse(I know bad idea) I can get the windows to go up and down fyi...

Did you disconnect the ac compressor? Is the ac switch on?. The best solution( and easiest) is to disconnect the ac system from the fuse panel. The ac compressor is probably drawing too much current and when you try to use a window the total current draw on the circuit exceeds the fuse limit. I wouldn't reccomend you bypass the fuse, you may overload the wiring and create a ground causing a fire at least melting the harness.
