Mann air filters 200 1989

Any good? OEM fitment and quality? I was going get another Volvo OEM air filter from the dealership. I called yesterday to see if they have any in stock. They do but the price is abount $28! Last time I think I paid about $14! FCP has Mann air filters for around $4 something. I'm going to Pep Boys today and am kinda tempted to buy a cheap Purulator filter, but am a bit iffy about fitting and quality. Thanks.

Go with the Mann! Some aftermarket AF's use a stiff sealing bead that will break or distort your filter housing. Mann uses a pliable seal.
Might be the OE supplier?

Purolator oil filters tested very well in the 'famous' internet study, so one could make the assumption that they put some quality into their air filters, but that's just a guess. Sounds like Gary got a bad one, so be warned.

You can't go wrong with Mann, in all likelihood it's the same filter your dlr is selling. Order a couple to reduce unit shipping cost, or wait til you need other parts from FCP. Pull your filter out and look through it at the sun or a light bulb...if plenty of light filters (sorry!) through, it's got some life in it yet, so no rush to replace.

The Mann filter I last received from Groton was well made, and fit properly. The last Purolator I used, it was purchased for a Toyota ,looked very cheaply made and did not fit worth a sheet.
