740 turbo loses power when spooling 700 1988

I have a '88 760 sedan, just rolled 200,000. When i drive the car and dont let the turbo kick in, all is fine, but once i let the turbo start to spool up, immidiate loss of power. if i back off and let the turbo slow, car goes right back to normal. I lowered the boost to around 4psi and no change. I have been running the car at around 12psi for about a year with no problems (adjusted with the wastegate). Any advice? Hopefully solutions?

That's exactly the hose that split in my old 740. Caused the same problem.

Once, I had the little cap on the outlet on the master cylinder just pop off. It caused a similar problem. It was really, really wierd.

Remove, clean, and inspect all of the induction hoses. You'll probably find one with a split in it. Most likely it will be on the bottom of the intercooler discharge hose, or on the outside of the elbow at the throttle body.
